Not all cashmere is created equal, and once you know what to look for, you’ll never be fooled again.
Cashmere quality is measured primarily by fibre diameter (in microns) and fibre length. The finer and longer the fibre, the softer and more durable the yarn. Just like our grading scale, cashmere also has grading scale: A, B C
Grade A: The finest cashmere, typically 14–15.5 microns. Incredibly soft, lightweight, and long-lasting. This is what we have at Cashmere Casa.

Grade B: Slightly coarser at around 16–19 microns. Still soft, but more prone to pilling over time.
Grade C: The lowest grade, often used in mass-market products. Feels soft initially but pills quickly and loses shape.

What else matters?
Ply: Two-ply cashmere is more durable than single-ply.
Origin: Mongolian cashmere is widely considered the world’s finest, thanks to the extreme climate that produces the densest, softest under fleece.
Certifications: Look for brands verified by the Sustainable Fibre Alliance (SFA). Cashmere Casa’s main supplier holds this certification.
